Yesterday

I tried a new blogging app on my phone so that I can blog from anywhere but it didnt work out so well so... I'm back!!

Yesterday, my beautiful, sweet, kind, amazing sister drove 3 hours to come to my home and fry chicken for my son. Then she drove home 3 hours!  Brayden will only eat her fried chicken and I am sure he polished off nearly a whole chicken by himself!
But thats not what I want to touch on today.

In my last post, I wondered if we were meant to live in a world where every moment of our time is scheduled and I have been thinking about this a lot lately.

Usually, when I have a ton of things to get done, I take a few minutes and write them down and to the side I add how long it will take to get them all finished.  And, normally, I get them all done.

And then yesterday, Carolyn and I were talking about her dear friend who is on up in years and said she wakes up each day and says "how can  I fill today up?" What an amazing concept! But then, theres the next question, "How can I fill today up AND serve God?"  Are the things I am filling up today with pleasing to God?

What do I do today to please God? Does caring for my family please God? Of course it does!! Does working hard at my job please God? Of course it does! As long as the praise of having that job belongs to God.  I often look at what I did during the day and think, nothing on here is for God. I did not talk to one person today about God's love, I did not donate anything today or help any one less fortunate than myself  today but in reality, God has given me 3 jobs to do in this season of my life, and they are to be his loyal servant, be a humble, giving, wife and a strong, kind, mom.  I need to realize every day that I am not set to do GRAND things in this life but instead be a strong, steadfast, child of God. My life in this season is all about running my home and setting a strong Christian foundation for my children.

So, in closing, I will take another look at all the things that fit into Lane 2-Family and put them in order of importance.

Until next time,
God Bless!
Keep your chin up, its easier to see heaven!

Betty
